I was honored to speak about my experience as an alumnus, and how the skills I learned in the department were crucial to my journey as a scholar.

Throwback Thursday: Benefits of a Foreign Language

9/8/2016

In 2003, my senior-year AP French Literature teacher, Monsieur Daniel Lanctot, was featured in a Connect With Kids feature for local tv affiliates. I was asked to participate, and my remarks start at about 1:17.
Narrator: A lot of kids struggle with a foreign langugae, and complain that it's impractical. But not all kids...

Daniel: It's not so practical that it's gonna help you toast your bread faster, it's not going to make your car run better, it's not going to make better computer programs, but it allows people to think, in this multicultural age, in a more creative way.
