I was honored to be invited by my Honors Thesis Undergraduate Advisor, Professor Laurie Monahan, to speak to the Honors awards ceremony at UCSB in June of 2017. I was honored to speak about my experience as an alumnus, and how the skills I learned in the department were crucial to my journey as a scholar.
In 2003, my senior-year AP French Literature teacher, Monsieur Daniel Lanctot, was featured in a Connect With Kids feature for local tv affiliates. I was asked to participate, and my remarks start at about 1:17. Narrator: A lot of kids struggle with a foreign langugae, and complain that it's impractical. But not all kids... In August of 2016, The Times of Israel featured the story of Dan and Jenna, two friends of mine from Seattle. The article included a photo that I took during their wedding engagement, which appeared on the front page feature.
The British Journal of Educational Technology (impact factor: 1.633; H-index: 63) has listed "The Impact of Mobile Learning on Students Learning Behaviors and Performance: Report from a Large Blended Classroom" (2009) by Wang, Shen, Novak, & Pan as one of their Top Articles in 2016. According to GoogleScholar, the paper has been cited more than 309 times since its publication.
AERA 2016 Symposium - Exploring feedback practices on novice teaching through online platforms4/9/2016 A video of my presentation titled "A Framework for Reflective and Feedback Practices that Promote Expertise in Video-based Online Commenting Systems" during our panel discussion at AERA 2016. Dr. Minjuan Wang and I have recently published an article in the Enycylcopedia of Mobile Phone Behavior for IGI Press, edited by Dr. Yan of the University of Albany. The entire volume received such high reviews that IGI has featured it on their website.
